FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASELohman Company, PLLC Announces ASU Scholarship Recipient November 3, 2006 -- Jay Lohman, founder and president of Lohman Company, PLLC, a certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce that Arizona State University senior Daren Layton is the recipient of the first annual Lohman Company, PLLC Scholarship. “Statistics show that accounting is one of the top industries for recent graduates,” said Lohman. “At Lohman Company, we want to help college students receive the tools they need before they enter the job market.” In addition to the $500 scholarship, Layton, of Globe, Ariz., toured Lohman Company, PLLC in the East Valley and met with firm employees who answered questions about his future career goals in accounting. “At Lohman Company, the staff is focused on the well-being of the whole person,” said Layton. “During the tour they emphasized that having a work/life balance is essential in accounting. I thought that was a good sign of a responsible company.” Layton adds that he plans to use the scholarship money to pay for books and supplies. “The less I have to worry about finances, the more I can focus on school,” he said. The Lohman Company, PLLC Scholarship is presented annually to a junior or senior accounting major at ASU with a cumulative and major grade point average of 3.25. The second annual Lohman Company, PLLC Scholarship will be awarded next spring.
