The team at Lohman Company was quite busy as the end of the year approached. As we look ahead to the New Year, here are some of the exciting things that happened since our last issue.

Welcome to our newest team members!

On November 10, 2014 Kyle Miller joined our team as a Senior within the Assurance Department. Kyle moved from Wichita, Kansas where he previously worked at Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, L.C.  He is a graduate of Wichita State University.

Amanda Lilly joined Lohman Company on January 5, 2015 as a Staff Accountant. Amanda is a recent graduate of Northern Arizona University.

Lohman Company’s recent industry engagements.

On December 4, 2014 Lohman Company sponsored a Mesa Chamber of Commerce seminar covering the new Transaction Privilege Tax (“TPT”) law changes effective January 1st.  This seminar featured a speaker from the Arizona Department of Revenue and attracted a large number of people from various business around the Valley.

Craig Lohman attended the Integra International AAA North America mini meeting in Denver on January 9th and 10th.  This meeting was attended by fellow Integra International members from across the United States as well as Mexico.  Integra International allows our firm to offer expanded professional services to our clients which may include national and international needs.

Helping out our community over the holidays.

Lohman Company's annual United Way Campaign was held in November and included our traditional Lohman Company Penny War between two teams.  This year we collected over $196 from the Penny War which was donated to Mesa United Way.

At the Phoenix Veterans Day parade on November 11, 2014, Cati Piorkowski and her son Jack volunteered to assist Right Choice Automotive in giving back to the community by serving 400 veterans, their families, and parade watchers with water, chips and hot dogs!

This past holiday season our firm decided to support Helen's Hope Chest, a program within Mesa United Way that helps foster children with their basic needs such as clothing, school supplies, books and toys.  On November 26, 2014 we gathered and donated a carload of toys which were distributed to foster children during the Christmas season.

Our firm spent the afternoon of December 2, 2014 at the United Food Bank volunteering to assist in filling 202 emergency food boxes (each box feeds a family of four for up to three days) and sorting of food weighing over 1,300 pounds.

Fun times in the office!

We had our firm's annual holiday potluck party on December 12, 2014.  Besides the great food that we got to share, we enjoyed a spirited white elephant gift exchange.

We also have continued our tradition of email bingo contests within our firm.  Our lucky Winter Bingo winners were Dennis Hare and Amanda Lilly.
