“I strive to treat everyone like they are my family because no matter how much I earn or achieve, in the end, the question will always be “What kind of person was he?” No amount of money or fame will change that.”

Dan Yamamoto, CPA

Dan joined the Lohman Company team in 2021. He currently serves as Client Accounting Services Manager. In this role, Dan partners with Lohman Company clients to maximize their financial abilities, so they can grow their businesses. His experience with sales and procurement teams, as well as his ability to make complex accounting issues understandable to clients, makes Dan an excellent strategic business manager for emerging companies.

Dan brings over 30 years of accounting industry experience to Lohman Company. He started his career in accounting in 1987 as an auditor for Deloitte in San Fransico, CA and gained experience working in industries such as manufacturing and distribution, food service, insurance, technology, and telecom.

Confident and composed, Dan’s colleagues would describe him as business-focused. He is motivated by a desire to understand the needs of his clients and provide support to fulfill those needs and ensure their organization’s success. And, funny story, Dan was inspired to go into accounting by the comedian Bob Newhart, who was an accountant before embarking on his career as a comedian.

Dan grew up on a raisin farm in Fresno, CA, and moved to Arizona in 1995. He and his wife Kate Otting currently reside in Tempe. Their daughter Stephanie, an electrical engineer, lives in Seattle, WA and was the top student in her graduating class at ASU. Dan’s favorite thing about living in Tempe is kayaking on Tempe Town Lake with his wife and their Siberian Husky Natasha. In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time outdoors, walking and biking. He and Kate are also enthusiastic travelers. They have visited Vietnam, Singapore, South Africa, the Philippines, Namibia, and Zambia. New Zealand, Ireland, China, and Japan are next on their places-to-visit list.
